Over time, scientific journals have established themselves as essential tools to inform and educate the general public. In Mexico, one of the pioneering publications in cultural and scientific dissemination was El Museo Mexicano, in which topics of history, natural sciences, art and literature were addressed with the purpose of reaching the general population and highlighting the cultural wealth and scientist of the country.
In Jalisco, the creation of various scientific organizations and groups has played a key role in this area. A significant example is the Bohemian Center of Guadalajara, which brought together prominent painters such as David Alfaro Siqueiros, José Clemente Orozco and Carlos Stahl, as well as scientists, including Father Arreola and Agustín Basave, and politicians such as José Guadalupe Zuno, Enrique Díaz of León and Ixca Farías. This group played a crucial role in the dissemination of knowledge and in promoting the greatness of the state, both nationally and internationally, through gazettes and bulletins.
